Lol. Ok so ur talkin about underground music or music for an intimate crowd that has not been popularized. My generalized statement of course would be along the lines of what this video is about since u were commenting on MJ and pop bands. Clearly NON Pop music is ur thing and I’m not knocking u for that. Because u hav that bounded rationality u wont be able to fathom MJ music and shallow pop we hear on radio so lets leav it at that …Oh by the way he wasnt ONE OF he was THE BEST@ wat he did

My point is, saying ‘music today’ is a stupid notion. You should be saying ‘music today…that I’ve heard”, or ‘music today…on the radio’. M.J. made poppy music meant to be easily digested by the masses. There is an enormous amount of music that is more innovative than M.J., though I agree he was one of the best in history at making pop hits. (FYI, that doesn’t mean much to me)

MJ gave rock ,soul, gospel depth and made it POPular worldwride. Music today barely does that if any at all. Acts today SAMPLED his artistry but they havent bin able to perform like MJ’s soul. Understan the difference. I kno that there are other music genres that r just as good and maybe even better than his. I’m from a country that produced Bob Marley so I know. But MJ gav ppl the ultimate entertainment even if he was ill…his ass was on that stage….and that is the reason for the hysteria

Idolatry is debatable. In my view it becomes unhealthy when it inflicts harm upon a person. As I said to sum1 else on YT, most MJ fans dont worship him, they hold him in hi esteem and adoration. His music made every1 feel good whether u liked him or not. there is NOTHING wrong about that. The term Idol too doesnt even begin to describe who MJ was.t I’d use the term Idol to describe contestants on that talent show on fox…and even so, they are Idolized for the moment.

I don’t think it’s healthy to idolize a performer to that hysterical extent. It’s just another human being, with talent of course. By the way, the ‘shallow’ music you talk about is of course pop, radio music, which is what M.J. was. I’ll give it to M.J. that his stuff was much better than most radio bile, but I don’t listen to the radio. Trust me, there is some amazing music being made, much better and more meaningful than anything M.J. did to me personally. You just have to hunt it down.

As tookybucko said ,u may hav had to experience his concert to get it wether iin person or video. If u see fans today crying at concerts watchin their fave bands, its nothing compared to what MJ fans do. Todays music is shallow and wont even last a literal minute. He was timeless and he knew how to lift your spirit & heart. so it really wasnt about him but his talent. Hopefully since his death u hav had the opportunity to take a glimpse at his Bad, Dangerous or History Tour. Then u’ll get it.

You would have had to be there to see him live in concert. He was more than an entertainer. He was a superstar. Incredible, amazing. Who else did people faint for by the way? No one in this generation.

Can someone explain to me why some people cry hysterically say in a crowd watching M.J.? (or whatever boy band, stupid girl singer) I cringe when I see footage of this, but maybe I just don’t understand the phenomenon. Seems that people idolize performers way too much.
